SAILING PROCEDURE IN GREEK WATERS AND COST

The boat you chartered is permitted to sail only in Turkish Territorial Waters during your charter period. It is not allowed to enter into Greek Waters for the purpose of visiting an island or for a temporary stop in a bay, except for emergency situations (such as breakdown, severe weather conditions or serious health problem with the crew).

If Greek Coast Guard or any other Greek Authority stops and checks the boat, quite high amount of fine may be applied and besides the boat may be retained by the authorities.

You can make only innocent passages in Greek Waters without stopping and should display Greek flag (which is available on board) at starboard side of the boat.

If you would like to visit any Greek Island or sail to Greek Main Land, you must fulfil the official customs formalities required both in Turkey and Greece, which involve additional costs.

The cost will varry according to boat size and duration of your stay in Greece.

An approximate cost figures will be as follows;

In Turkey  
Exit and re-entry formalities   350 €
In Greece  
Entry and exit formalities    150 €
Agent Fee   150 €
Tepai Tax   110 €
Tepadah Plus Tax   500 € (fix price) + (Gross Tonnage Factor + Length Factor) x Number of stay in Greece
 
Example for Tepadah Plus Tax for a boat up to 150 Gross Ton & 15 m and for three days stay in Greece :
Tepadah Plus Tax = 500 € + (30  €+ 30 €) x 3 days = 680 €
